My youngest son and I have the best Sunday conversations.
Today everybody was out of town except us so we met for lunch at a fabulous place that serves both tacos and sushi, can it get any better? Then we walked the paved trail at park across the street. I really love this kid and I proved it because I went an entire lap around the park in my platform heels, carrying my purse.
That is true love. Ha!
Today’s conversation was so, so good and I knew I had to figure out a way to share it because someone (besides just me) needs to hear it.
Here’s the best I can do for a recap…
Life isn’t always meant to stay the same.
Some people are meant to stay and some are meant to leave.
You could change the word “people” in the previous sentence to almost anything and that statement would still be true.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is to let go.
Seriously.
Let. Go.
Let go of whatever it is you’re white knuckling and trust that whatever happens next, is what’s supposed to happen.
That’s the beautiful ebb and flow of life.
When we let go of the person or job or house or whatever, it creates space for the next person or job or house or whatever that’s supposed to be in your life right now.
Change is scary.
But, without it, we grow stagnant.
There’s a season for all things and in order for our lives to be rich and full, we have to let go of the things that are no longer meant for us; allow one season to end so anther can begin. Every experience and person in our past makes up who we are, so letting go doesn’t mean forgotten or dismissed, it just allows the space we need to keep growing
and going
and glowing.
What are you holding onto that you’re trying to drag into your future?
Let go.
Trust as God takes you into new spaces and places.
He wants to take you on the ride of your life.
And after fifty something years on this planet, I can tell you with complete confidence,
it is a glorious ride!
